Sarah: I’m a sophomore psychology major from East Lansing, Michigan. Both my parents started their careers in music but switched to technology. STEM is the future and it is important to me to have fair representation and opportunities in the field. I took a journalism class to improve my project management skills. I used to tutor at the elementary school and was thrilled to take on a project that combines my interests in STEM and childhood education. In my free time I like to go on nature walks, explore the cities, and bingeing Netflix shows.

Emma : I am a senior, English major, at Hamline University. I work at the campus newspaper, The Oracle, as well as teach a journalism class at Hamline Elementary. My interest in our topic, Women of Science, was inspired by Hamline’s female science professors, who recently, and throughout their careers, have been an instrumental force shaping the culture and scientific research at Hamline. In my free time I enjoy listening to podcasts, reading, writing, and playing music.
Sami: I am a Sophomore at Hamline University, majoring in chemistry and minoring in math. I am from West St. Paul, MN but currently live on campus in St. Paul. I have always had passion for STEM since I was a child, but fell in love with science during my 10th grade biology class. This love was strengthened after my junior-year chemistry class and senior-year physics class. With my mom having a BA in math, I have always had her support to follow the path I want to be on. I feel I have a large interest in the topic Women of Science seeing as I am a woman in science. In my free time, I love to dance, explore the outdoors, and find fun new places to eat.

I enjoy shedding light on some lesser known aspects of everyday life. Women in science is an area that I feel is overlooked, and I want people to know how women are really progressing. I have interests in all things video games, shooting sports, and dogs.
